Activities

We are an active congregation that is constantly looking for ways to share our blessings and make better use of our resources. We value opportunities to share each others company through fellowship as well as spreading the good news through our fundraising and outreach efforts.

Outreach

The Social Outreach ministry at Lord of Life is aimed at promoting a wide range of activities that address the material, financial and spiritual needs of people in our local community and around the world who need a helping hand. Through budgeted benevolence funds we are able to distribute financial assistance to numerous Kalamazoo County based charitable organizations. Rotating monthly projects help to provide food, clothing, school supplies, “wish list” items and additional funds to various local agencies, including but not limited to: Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes food pantry, Ministry with Community, Generous Hands, Twelve Baskets food pantry, Kalamazoo Drop-in Child Care Center, Portage Community Outreach Center, and SWELL/Samaritas. Beyond our own community, we also support the global activities of Lutheran World Relief with handmade quilts, school kits, and personal care kits.

Lord of Life is also proud to be one of several local area churches that volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels (through Milestone Senior Services) to the Portage community.
